A Saxophone Choir of One
How does “A Saxophone choir of one” work?
This is my newest project this year! I love recording pieces for chamber ensemble, such as music arranged from string quartets or choirs. I realized that maybe I could play these group pieces by myself if I record all the parts except the solo part. I tried it and audiences loved the variety of saxophone sounds in the music, as well as simply being 100% classical music for something unique. I have many programs in mind but the current program is:
J.S. Bach Cello Suite No 1
Dvorak String Quartet No 12
Luigi Boccerini Guitar Quintet No. 4
I am busy planning the next ones, so coming soon look for more traditional string quartet music, some beautiful choral music including Pärt and Gjeilo, and to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the USA, music from American composers, especially those historically disenfranchised due to their identity.
